NEWS: For Immediate Release

ALLSET Releases Debut CD
"Baker's Dozen"

CD Features 13
Psychoactive Tracks

BOSTON, Mass. - February 1, 1998 -
ALLSET announced the release
of their debut CD, Baker's Dozen, today.
Baker's Dozen contains 72min. 30sec. of
passionately improvised music that is
energetic, deep, hypnotizing,
and at times frenetic.
The disc features a blend of
material from live and studio recordings.

ALLSET consists of Brad Slate on electronic violin,
Sadeeq Holmes on keyboards and synthesizers,
Chris Plachowicz on electric bass with
Mark Ostrowski
on drums and percussion.
Since the groups inception almost 2 year ago,
they have performed their style of psychoactive dance
music to a growing following in east c clubs.

The passionately improvised music of the group
extends a trend made popular by bands such as
Ozric Tentacles, Phish and Tortoise.
This style of music raises audience consciousness
to a trance level in which
ecstatic dancing occurs.

"We really try and musically give ourselves
to this thing that we've created.
Our sound is alive, constantly evolving,
and sometimes seems as if
it has a mind of its own."
says violinist Slate.

Bassist Plachowicz adds,
"It's as if every note we play has a reason for being there.
It's a big jigsaw puzzle of sound that we're putting back together."

The disc is currently being
distributed by MerkabaTone Records and
is available directly from MerkabaTone,
Tower Records and
online at Broadcast.com.
In Boston the CD is also available at
CD Spins, Mystery Train, Nuggets, and select Strawberries & Borders.

The complete disc can be listened to in
streaming audio at Broadcast.com's Online Jukebox.

Samples can be heard at MerkabaTone Records.
